Jewellery with natural pearls

How to tell natural pearls from artificial ones?
Gently slide the pearl along the edge of your tooth: a natural one gives subtle resistance (like fine sand), an artificial one is perfectly smooth. Natural pearls also differ from one another — in a strand no two are identical.
