Settlement agent

Pursuant to the decision of the President of the National Bank of Poland of 15th June 2007, PayU S.A. was granted a status of a Settlement Agent. For this purpose, the company had to meet a set of requirements that are set forth in the Act on Electronic Payment Instruments (Journal of Laws of 11th October 2002 No. 169, item 1385 as amended).

The Settlement Agent is supervised by the President of the National Bank of Poland, and thus is obliged to disclose the current reports on monetary settlements to NBP. Information reported pursuant to legal requirements should include e.g. number of acceptors, number and value of transactions as well as number of successful and unsuccessful attempts to conclude transactions infringing the provisions of laws or rules of fair trade (e.g. transactions made using payment cards that have been stolen or lost).

Agreements concluded with the Settlement Agent by online shops or platforms provide a guarantee of clear settlement procedures and security of transactions.

Sending information

Data available on platforms cooperating with Platnosci.pl is transmitted using SSL EV protocol (Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer) which provides the highest standard for verifying identity. Additionally, it is possible to encrypt information exchanged between an online shop or a platform and a Customer.

Protection against transactions infringing the law

There is always a high risk connected with paying for goods or services using a payment card. PayU S.A. has several years of experience in processing such payments, and as a result, we have managed to decrease the rate of suspicious transactions from 40% to 0.02%. Therefore, we may provide Users of Platnosci.pl with a unique functionality, i.e. a chargeback guarantee that involves financial liability to be assumed by the company for transactions made using payment cards that have been stolen or lost.

Furthermore, all transactions processed by Platnosci.pl are monitored, and their status is closely watched by specialists from Security Section and professional Customer Service Department.

3D-Secure

3D-Secure technology, which we use to process payments, helps us increase security of online transactions. As a result, we verify payment cards before they are used, and request card holders to confirm their identity using a special password. Afterwards, the card is authorized in the same way as in the case of transactions that are not processed using 3D-Secure technology.

Buyer Protection

If an eligible item that you’ve bought online doesn’t arrive, or doesn’t match the seller’s description, our Buyer Protection will reimburse you for the full amount of the item plus postage and packaging costs. Buyer Protection covers all your online purchases, on eBay or on any other website, when you use PayPal.

If the seller has accurately described an item, but you’re just not happy with it, if you fail to open a dispute within 45 days of purchase, or if your account is not in good standing, you are mostly likely not covered.

If an order doesn’t arrive or match the description, we’ll reimburse the full cost of eligible purchases and paid delivery costs.
